It was a very dark night. JabberWacky was running to the Pound as fast as she could. It was moments away from opening, and she was excited to see what pets she would be offered this time. She joined the huddle of the other anxious owners and counted down the last few seconds. "Five, four, three, two, one!" The Pound opened, and everyone raced in. People were grabbing pets as fast as they could. Jabber looked into the bars of a rusty, silver cage and saw a beautiful wolf. She didn't know the breed, or the rarity, but that didn't matter to her. She loved this pet, and adopted it before someone else could get their hands on it. She took it home and fed the beauty food and gave her water to drink. "I shall call you," Jabber thought hard, then the perfect name came to mind, "Mayaka! I will call you Mayaka." The gorgeous dog barked and jumped happily. After a while, Jabber was given even better pets from people, and Mayaka was a thing of the past. Mayaka would bark to go on walks, but Jabber would ignore her. Mayaka barked for fresh food and water, but Jabber would still ignore her, and give her the scraps her rarer pets left over from their meals instead. Mayaka became sad, and went back into a corner to sob. Suddenly, another owner was asking for a trade. They were offering two 2013 rares for Mayaka. "Oh what the heck," Jabber thought, "I'll accept." The other owner took Mayaka and Jabber took the other two rare pets. Mayaka stared back at Jabber one final time, and began to cry. Months passed, and Jabber felt like she was missing something. Something important, but she couldn't figure out what it was. She then realized that she was missing Mayaka. She quickly went back to the owner she traded with to trade back, but the owner only said: "Sorry, but I traded that wolf away." Jabber froze. She quickly saw that the pet was still in the owner's signature. She selected it and saw Mayaka's new owner's name. She ran to the person, and asked for a trade. She completely overtraded, and the person had to accept! They just had to! Finally, after an hour of waiting, the person responded, and they had accepted the trade. Mayaka was once again with Jabber. Mayaka barked at Jabber and licked her face out of joy. "Oh Mayaka," Jabber whispered into her ear, "it's great to have you back."
