I was born on February 21st 2009, a time when Chicken Smoothie was still a relatively new place. I remember how my owner was so excited over how adorable she thought that I was, she always did love the black patch over my right ear with the few white spots at the end. Every day we would run and play for a while, my tail wagging wildly with joy! After 21 days I had finally reached my fully grown size, no longer a little pup, and I thought that all was well, until the day came that someone else offered to trade with her.
They pointed at me and offered up a german shepard in exchange for me. I have to admit I was one really nervous dalmatian, I had never been asked for in a trade before and i had no idea what to expect. My heart was shattered when she accepted the trade, but I thought that we were friends, that nothing could ever come between us?! She didn't even bother to say goodbye, she was too busy squealing over her new pet to even notice me anymore. I was sent away with my new owner, with no idea what was in store for me.
I was placed in a group called "February dogs 2009", where there were other dogs that were born the same month that I was. The others were quite friendly and offered to play some games with me, but even as I joined in the fun, I couldn't get my mind off of my first owner, how much I missed her. It wasn't long after I had arrived however that someone had once again asked for me in a trade.
And so it continued over the years, hopping from one persons pet collection to the next. Being named and renamed, and sometimes having my name removed entirely with nothing but my birth date. The other pets tried to comfort me and reassure me that this is just a normal part of how CS works, but to no avail. The months and years became a blur to me, just as I was feeling settled enough that I could look forward to the next CS event, off I would go in another trade, so what was really the point in celebrating those anymore?
On the morning of March 4th 2018 I woke up to find myself in yet another trade offer. "Well, here we go again..." I thought to myself as I let out a deep sigh, but this time I was being given to someone as a gift. As we all went into the room to settle the deal, I felt something inside that told me that something was...very different, about this trade. This person I was being gifted to had only been a member of CS for a few days, not that I haven't been in that situation countless times before, often times I just end up as "trade fodder", as they put it. No, this time I could feel something about this new person that I was not expecting at all.
When he saw me walk in behind my soon to be former owner, his eyes grew huge with excitement, a reaction that I had not seen in someone that I was being traded to in quite a long time. As the new CS member pressed the accept trade button on the little panel in the center of the room, I heard my former owner say "Welp, he's all yours, I hope you enjoy him!" I will never forget what happened next.
My new owner then kneeled down and gave me the biggest hug that I can remember since I had been with my very first owner way back in 2009! "Hey, little buddy, it's so good to meet you, I can tell that we are gonna be best pals!" I rested my chin on his shoulder, I realized that what I had felt about this person earler was something I have been looking for all these years. At last, I was loved by someone who really meant it.
He then placed me in a group with a golden plate on the door that read: "Ultimate dreamies, NEFT". Underneath those words was a purple heart, and I could also see that there was a little lock on the door knob, and a sense of peace and happiness finally came over me, something I haven't felt for as long as I can remember. He also gave me a new name, Cooper...oh how I loved that so much! I knew that this time, I had finally found a home for good!
It's only been a couple of months but I have already had so much fun with my new owner! Not long after he adopted me, he let me try out my first dress-up in what felt like ages, ah it was so great to be able to do that again! We have already been through several CS holiday events together, and I am SO excited to see what kind of fun adventures I will have with all of the rest of the events and holidays this year! And to those pets out there that are still looking for their perfect owner, take it from me, there is always hope, the one you are searching for is out there, and eventually you will find them!
Today we have another story to share with you all! This was written by J-and-K341 about their pet, Cooper. You can check it out by clicking "Read More" below. Thanks for the submission!
