Shimmering Moon kept pacing. She felt so worried and excited. Today was the day she had been waiting for. Today would change her life.
Today there were the rarity announcements for March 2014.
It was April now, and yesterday she had heard that the rarities for March would be announced today. She had been in the lion litter in March, the brown outcome with pink stripes. Her sisters were Magenta Galaxy, the magenta and black outcome, Mysterious Galaxy, the blue outcome, and Starlit Skies, the yellow outcome. They had been talking to each other excitedly about what rarities they would be all night. Shimmering Moon, the more quiet sibling, had simply listened on. Magenta Galaxy had bragged that she would be Rare, Starlit Skies had been unsure, and Mysterious Galaxy said she hoped she would be Uncommon, but wasn't completely sure, either.
When a messenger had came with the announcements, Shimmering Moon listened, barely able to sit still. The messenger announced the dogs first, then came to the cats, or as it was this month, the lions. The messenger announced,"Magenta Lioness Outcome: Uncommon. Brown Lioness Outcome: Common. Blue Lioness Outcome: Common. Yellow Lioness Outcome: Common."
Shimmering Moon groaned when she heard Magenta Galaxy's rarity. Not because she was jealous, in fact, Shimmering Moon hated too much attention, but because Magenta Galaxy would either be whining that she wasn't Rare, or bragging that she was a higher rarity than her sisters. Possibly both. Oh well, at least Shimmering Moon had received what she hoped for: Common. She wouldn't have to be worried about being endlessly traded, and she didn't want that. That was what mainly mattered to her: her own rarity, just like every other pet.
For our last story today, we've got a piece by Comettail76 about the announcement of rarities!
