This story is from the point of view of Leurai's staff pup this year, the chubby and smiling pps pup from the staff litter. The friend is Sorren Fey's staff litter dog from 2011; the pps pup from the 2011 staff litter.
It was a dark and stormy night... actually, it was noon on a warm summer day.
Anyway, my best friend had dared me to to go push Avian over, and I was obviously hesitant. But our deal was that if we didn't do the dares, we would have to stand in the road with a sign that says 'I wish I was a cat.' I knew I couldn't do that, so I sneaked up behind Avian to give her a shove. I was reluctant, so my friend pushed me forward.
Avian was surrounded by her fans and big Tv cameras. I felt a little bit jealous, seeing the sunjewels and UR Tigers watching her in awe, some I took a step forward and shoved her into the mud, then turned and ran. My friend was laughing incredibly hard, but I just stood there, terrified of what I had just done.
The next morning I felt horrible, so I went to Avian's house, carrying in one paw a bundle of balloons, and in the other a box of chocolates. I knocked on the door, and Tess answered. I asked her if Avian was there, and she nodded. I asked if I could see her, and after a moment, Tess gave her consent. So I walked into Avian's room, where she sat on her bed with the curtains on her windows closed and the lights dimmed.
"Hi. Are you okay?" I asked her, handing her the balloons and chocolates.
"Yeah." She shrugged. "I just bruised my knees, that's all."
"I pushed you." I blurted out, then covered my mouth. "I'm so sorry." I whispered to her. "My friend dared me too and I don't know why I did it, I was just... jealous, I guess."
Avian looked at me with sympathy in her eyes. "It's okay. And being famous is horrible, you know. Everyone wants to talk to you, you're always being followed by camera crews, it's horrible." She sighed.
"It's gotta be better than being disregarded as a common, unwanted dog." I said sadly.
"At least you get to be left alone and you can lead a normal life." Avian pointed out. "And you had a reason to shove me. I forgive you. Want to go out and get some ice cream?" Her tail began to wag.
My tail thumped the floor. "Yes, please!" I smiled.
So Avian and I became friends, and I realized that she was right; being famous was horrible. But it was alright, and I guess I had a happy ending.
