"Why hello Era. Have a nice rest?"
She cuddled the little thing gently, and an odd purring sound shook him, proving how happy he was to see her. He then looked at the closed sign on the pound, then back to his owner.
"Don't worry Era. I'll find your littermates. Somewhere."
The next day she had made it a few moments early. She would check her watch constantly. Seconds felt like minutes, and when the sign was flipped to say open, she dashed in. The odd array of pet dazzled her. She looked at every butterfly wolf, searching even the slightest resemblance to Era.
Until she found him.
He had the same wing pattern of Era, same bright green. Instead of goggles, a gas mask helped him breath, his legs robotic. The swirls and blends of his fur were almost identical to Era.
Quickly, she picked him up, claiming him. He was soft, his breathing faintly heard in the gas mask. Heading home, she whistled to Era.
"Era! I have a gift for you!"
Like most butterfly wolves, he zipped to her at the mention of a present.
"Era, meet your new brother, Eset!"
The two were curious of each other when they first started spending time together, but after a while, their friendship sparked, and now they are true brothers.
